In a year in which the national pass rate has fallen, this represents an improvement of 1% point for 5+ A*-C including English and Maths, the government’s key measure. The overall 5+ A*-C has matched last year’s best ever result.
Cllr Ian Blair, Chair of the Children and Young People Committee, said: "Congratulations to everyone collecting their exam results today. The indications are that it has been another successful year for GCSEs in South Gloucestershire, with many of our secondary schools recording their best results ever, and I want to praise the hard work of students, teachers and parents for the achievements today."
