Discover your creative side at your local library this Adult Learners’ Week (13 to 19 June).
Adult Learners’ Week is a national celebration of lifelong learning and throughout the week South Gloucestershire libraries are highlighting the range of craft groups they regularly host. Craft groups are open to anyone and offer a great opportunity to socialise and share ideas in a creative environment. Alongside the crafts, some libraries are additionally holding knitting groups and IT sessions for beginners.
Adult Learners’ Week events in selected libraries include:
Craft groups
Hanham Library
Tuesday 16 June, 5pm to 6.30pm
Takes place on the first and third Tuesday every month.
Emersons Green Library
Tuesday 16 June, 6.30pm to 7.30pm
Beginners welcome.
Cadbury Heath Library
Saturday 20 June, 10am to 12pm
Bring along your work in progress and share your ideas with others.
Patchway Library
Saturday 20 June, 10am to 12pm
Spaces are limited, call 01454 868006 or email patchway.library@southglos.gov.uk to book your place and find out what the group will be making next.
Knitting groups – knit, purl and chat
Downend Library
Monday 15 June, 10am to 12pm
Wool and patterns provided, plus needles if required.
Filton Library

Adult Learners’ Week takes place from 13 to 19 June and recognises the inspiring achievements of adult learners nationwide. It is part of the Festival of Learning, which is led by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) and invites organisations and communities to take part in adult learning activities to showcase the wide range of opportunities and resources available to adults hoping to continue or resume their education.
