Works to reopen the A431 Kelston Road began this week, following its closure earlier this year due to a major landslip.
Bath & North East Somerset Council, as the responsible local authority, started initial preparation works, including setting up the site and installing fencing, on 16 July.
Work is now set to continue on the project through to completion and it is anticipated that the road will reopen before Christmas.
Local residents and schools will have an opportunity to visit the site at certain stages in order to see at first-hand the extensive works being undertaken.
Temporary traffic diversions to the east and west of the road closure will continue and commuters are encouraged to use the official diversion rather than ‘rat running’ via Marshfield Lane and Brewery Hill. This route will continue to operate to a 20mph speed limit to ensure the safety of local residents and road users.
