Businesses, community groups and residents in South Gloucestershire are encouraged to visit the new Link to Energy website, which links people who are planning energy efficiency improvements in their homes and premises with local installers.

The Link to Energy network is run by the Severn Wye Energy Agency and supported by South Gloucestershire Council. Its aim is to help connect the growing number of businesses in the region that specialise in offering energy efficient heating, lighting, insulation and renewable technologies with homeowners, businesses and community groups that are hoping to benefit from the savings these improvements can provide.

Adding cavity wall insulation to a house, installing solar photovoltaics on a village hall, or heating business premises with a biomass boiler are just a few examples of improvements that installers on the network can offer. As well as finding ways to save on energy bills and reduce carbon emissions, there are also a variety of grants and financial incentives available.

South Gloucestershire Council’s Communities Chair Cllr Heather Goddard said: “This network offers a fantastic opportunity for people in the district to be able to find and contact local installers of energy efficient services and technologies.

“As energy prices remain unpredictable, more and more residents and business owners will be looking for ways to make savings and become more energy efficient. They will need local qualified businesses to carry out the work and this network is a great way to find services you can trust.”

There are several South Gloucestershire homes featured as case studies on the Link to Energy website, where residents have saved up to 45 per cent off their energy bills.
