The latest round of Area Forum meetings begins this evening and residents are encouraged to come along to have a say on local decision-making.

All meetings include an open session for members of the public to put questions to councillors and officers on any matter in their area, so why not come along and join in the debate on the following dates and locations:

Kings Forest – Monday 22 February, 7pm, Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Kingswood
Severn Vale – Wednesday 2 March, 7pm at Turnberries Community Centre, Bath Road, Thornbury
Frome Vale – Thursday 3 March, 7pm, Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church, High Street, Chipping Sodbury
The Chase – Monday 7 March, 7pm, Council Chamber, Civic Centre, Kingswood
Southern Brooks – Tuesday 8 March, 7pm, Patchway Community College, Hempton Lane, Patchway.

On the agenda for this round of meetings are opportunities to identify priorities for the Local Transport Capital programme 2016/17, decisions on the allocation of community grants, new homes bonus grants and positive activities subsidy grants, and an update on redesign of community health care services from a representative from Sirona Care & Health. There will also be an update on the future of the Area Forums.

In addition, the Severn Vale Area forum will receive a bus service update on developments in the local bus network. This is in response to issues raised at previous meetings with regard to Gloucestershire County Council’s Funded Public Transport Consultation. The Frome Vale Area Forum will also receive a Network Rail Update, where a representative from Network Rail will update the Forum on the forthcoming work at Dodington Road, Chipping Sodbury.
